Yes, there's alcohol in it. Here is exactly how much, and why.
Pure grain alcohol, 20–24% of the bottle. In a 1mL dose that's about 0.17g — roughly one-sixtieth of a standard drink, or a fifth of what's in a glass of kombucha.
Some of the compounds in a mushroom dissolve in water; others only dissolve in alcohol. Use water alone and you leave one group behind. Use alcohol alone and you leave the other. We extract with both.
The trade-off, since we'd rather say it than not: a single extraction can pull more of one group than a dual extraction does — some brands do that deliberately, to concentrate the water-soluble side. We'd rather have both groups than more of one.
If you'd rather avoid the alcohol entirely, take it in tea or coffee. A hot drink cooks off most of it.
